Smartie was created by husband and wife New York journalists Dan Ackerman and Libe Goad.

Dan is currently Editor-in-Chief of Clubplanet.com, the country's biggest nightlife website, as well as it's quarterly print spinoff. Previously, Dan covered video games, music and film for UGO.com as Senior Editor. His work can also be found in publications including PC Magazine, Sync and USA Today. New Yorkers can catch his weekly nightlife column in the Tribune-owned daily newspaper amNewYork.
